Expansion & Relocation Project Update
As of today, the Expansion Project is about 75% complete. The building exterior work is substantially completed. The remaining exterior work includes: top course of asphalt, underground irrigation system, and landscaping work, which will take place towards the end of the project. On the interior, the framing and MEP (mechanical, electric, plumbing) rough-in work is substantially completed, the sheetrock is all on-site, and its installation should begin shortly.

To date, over $45,000,000 has been pledged/collected. St. Michael’s Home has received approval from the Nassau County Local Economic Assistance Corporation to issue bonds to finance the remainder of the construction. Once the funding from the bond issuance is received, work will accelerate on the project and construction will be completed in approximately 12 months!

While obtaining the financing will allow us to complete construction in 2027, assistance is still vitally needed to support this magnificent facility. Hopefully those who have not yet participated in the Capital Campaign will do so and help complete the project. NOW is the time for those who have not yet participated in the Capital Campaign to generously support the expansion and help bring about its realization which will impact the lives of so many of our seniors.

As we build our new magnificent state-of-the-art continuum care facility to meet the ever-increasing needs of our elderly, we need the support of every member of our community. The projected cost of this project which will impact the lives of so many people is approximately $55 million (unfortunately historic inflation which is 15%-20% in the construction industry has added $5,000,000 - $6,000,000 to our original budget). As of January 2026, 75% of that amount has been pledged, most of which have been fulfilled. We need your support to keep the construction moving forward at the same pace so that the Home can open.
