The Home is visited weekly by two geriatric specialists (who are on-call at all times in case of emergencies), a podiatrist, psychologist, and psychiatrist. Additionally, the Home is visited on a regular basis by an optometrist. Additional medical personnel include a certified nutritionist who reviews the menu monthly to assure that the specific dietary needs of residents are being met and a licensed physical therapist who conducts two weekly 45 minute exercise sessions with all residents. To accommodate the elderly, arrangements have been made with the appropriate providers to perform various medical procedures such as blood tests, x-rays, EKG's in house. Located in close proximity to St. Michael's are a number of medical facilities such as St. Joseph's Hospital, should the need arise. The Home also assumes the responsibility of ordering all prescribed medications.
